This is a birthday cake I did for a little boy turning 1 year old. His Dad told me I had free artistic license with it. All he told me was the boy liked Sock monkeys and they had entertained an island theme. This is a pineapple cake with buttercream icing. The "sand" is graham cracker crumbs, the tiki huts, walking path, and rocks falling down the side of the cake are made from brownies. Monkeys, dolphins, and boat are fondant. I used Runts candy for the other sea critters and the volleyball etc. The only things not edible are the toothpick on the sail boat, umbrellas, and trees. The boys name is spelled out in chocolate letters. They all loved the cake and paid me well for it. They couldn't have been more thrilled. This cake was a lot of fun.
