Thank you all for your kind comments. As it is my 1st bag, I didn't even think to turn the seam around. But I was just playing, it isn't an order. The brushes were scored with the back of a knife and the bits n bobs didn't take long, an hour or so, they are all simple shapes. They also look more than they really are as the bag is padded out with cotton balls (mini MM).
This is so adorable! You did a awesome job!! I have a friend that sells Mary Kay I'm going to try and make this one. How did you make the brushes look so real?
Thanks glor08 - yep, I was playing here and just used a white cake mix. Any 'firm' e.g. maderia - cake is good for sculpting. For this one I made 2 8inch cakes and cut the 'crown' from the bottom layer and added it to the top so the walls were at a gradual incline. I use half n half BC, the recipes area has some yummy recipes. I feel odd giving advice as I am a complete novice at this
WOW!!! Your cake is unbelievable!!! Awesome job!! Can you please tell me what kind of cake you use to make a 3d sculpture cake? Can I use a box mix or does it have to be homemade? If it has to be homemade, what is the best recipe to use so it doesnt fall apart when carving? And what buttercream recipe do you use? Thanks!!!!

It looks great LizzyB. I don't think anybody here cares about the seam in the front, much less non-cake people!
Make up bags have seams don't they! This looks awesome!
HARD WORK THAT PAYED OFF, THIS CAKE ROCKS!
Wow, the details are amazing. I even love the dust on the brush!
