Buttercream Was Once The Traditional Frosting For Cakes Until Fondant Became Popular But Buttercream Is Making A Comeback One Of The Trend... on Cake Central

Buttercream was once the traditional frosting for cakes until fondant became popular, but buttercream is making a comeback! One of the trends for this year are buttercream covered cakes for their natural, textured look. With that in mind (and the fact that spring is just around the corner), I designed Nora’s 30th birthday cake with one of her favourite flowers, the peony, dusted in pink, ivory and purple. I also highlighted everything with my favourite go-to 24k edible gold paint. Purple and gold confetti keep the cake fun and less formal looking.
