This is what I have spent yesterday and most of today working on. I tried to make the hat look old but it just looks a mess. It is iced in buttercream. The brim and band are fondant. The "sign" is edible rice paper and written with edible ink. Tea pot (which is supposed t look like it is tipping) is covered with fondant and hand painted with edible "paint". Roses are fondant. Had lots of problems with this one. You can see all the wrinkles under the handle from where the cake started slipping, and the purple is turning blue.
