I've wanted to do ruffles for a long time and was just waiting for the right cake to come along. For this design, I wanted the ruffles to mimic waves of the ocean. You can't see it in this shot but there's also a small starfish on top of the cake. A small figurine of Ariel and Sebastian (not edible) was later added for Abby as a keepsake.
