Penguin Winter Scene

Penguin Winter Scene on Cake Central

Hands down my favorite cake. Got the idea on this site (thanks!). The penguins, fish and igloo tiles are fondant. Trees are sugar cones. Water is piping gel with blue food coloring. The igloo is the Wilton barbie doll cake pan (the dress). The cake was very time consuming but did not take much skill at all.

Super cute cake!! Love all the penguins especially the one dunking it's head in the pond. Fun idea & excellent job!

I made all the individual pieces then setup an assembly line of sorts and glued them with royal icing. The wings were made from the Wilton nested leaf cookies cutouts. They were remarkably easy, just time consuming.

Don't be so modest, this cake takes skills and you have the skills to have created such a fantastic cake. Great Job!

I'm amazed. Everything about this cake I like. You said you made the trees from sugar cones. Are they covered in green royal icing or buttercream? Also is the igloo covered in fondant or buttercream? :D

The trees are covered in bc. The igloo is covered in bc then I used the nested square cookie cutout to make the individual "blocks of ice" in fondant. I've made this cake three times now (this pic was the 1st)....I've used both the smallest and the middle-size square cutout. I think they both look okay but obviously the middle-size cutout goes much faster than the small one. The higher up I got i had to shape the "blocks" to have sides like this /

THIS IS JUST LOVABLE , I DONT THINK I COULD STAND TO EAT THE CUTE LITTLE PENGUINS...YOU DID A GREAT JOB..DEFINTELY ONE OF MY FAVORITES
