Beautiful! What a lot of time you must have put in! Am I correct that these are made by folding fondant circles in half, then attaching in the "starfish" design? I read about it once but have forgotten. Anyway, your cake is lovely.
Not my cake, but you do it by cutting a circle then folding up three sides (I impress lightly with a triangle cutter) in the shape of a revolutionary- era three cornered hat.
Once I got within sight of where I started I judged whether I needed to start stretching or squishing to make it work. Squishing was the winner in that instance. I worked all three rows as I went around. To do it again I think I'd do the bottom row first so everything was still adjustable and could be more evenly spaced.
Thanks everyone for the lovely reactions!!! You've made my day. I've made a tutorial and I'll place it onder the name blue. English is not my first language, but I'll hoop that you'll know what I mean...... ;-)
