So this is my son's birthday cake. He wanted to sit down and design it with me and wanted all things nautical (inc aeronautical) so there are various boats, fishermen and helicopters around the cake and of course he wanted something in the air above it....I have only been doing cakes for 18mths so my reaction...'yeah right'....well I ended up sitting down and nutting this out with the assistance of hubby. It was a first for me and a case of trial and error on my part as to the best way to put it all together, things didn't quite go according to plan but my little man was most impressed so that's all that matters in the end :o)
