The cup was made out of two round cakes. The icing kept bulging in between the layers. The icing was buttercream. The handle and the steam were made out of chocolate.

This is sooo cute!!! My MIL would love this for her B-day. I may have to "borrow" your idea :D Is this torted? Did you put a dam of icing to hold it in? if not, that is usually why it bulges.
