Your cake truely is lovely! I feel you described the cake perfectly as it was the first word that came to mind. You're a talented artist, thank you for sharing!

This is a wonderfully designed cake....just beautiful!

This is a lovely design indeed. But when you say extruded letering, do you mean you did it with an extruder and hand shaped the letters yourself? Either way it is georgeous. and thanks for sharing.

AZCouture, I completely agree. I will sometimes refer to my own cakes as cute or adorable. Often times because they came out better than even I expected and I'm surprised. Also because when you look at as many cakes as we do everyday, you really know what's lovely, and adorable. I am sure people always think I'm crazy when I am the one saying how cute it is but honestly to see the fruition of all your hard work manifest into something this beautiful, call it what it is...Lovely!

And thank you very much for the compliments, where are my manners? Sillywabbitz, exactly! Heck, I'm the first one to call something I made lame too, I have LOTS of those!
    AZCouture 2/18/13 at 8:30am
myslice, yes the letters are long thin ropes of fondant extruded with my trusty Makins, and curled and cut and pieced together to make letters.

I have made 2 truly ugly cakes - neither of which I include in my portfolio. One was exactly what the customer wanted and one was a Cristy experiment gone wrong:) My friends laugh when I say I made an ugly cake. My mom is polite and says "It's not my favorite cake you've made" . Which is just mom code for "yep it's ugly"

OH i LOVE this! You did a fantastic job. and there is absolutely nothing wrong or even odd to call your own cake lovely. There is something wonderful about knowing you have pulled off a lovely, beautiful, bespoke cake for your customer! wonderful job with the extruded name. I think I may use your inspiration for my son's dedication cake this weekend, if you don't mind! :)

I love this! Am happy to see someone know that their work was exquisite and not be afraid to say so. Very well done!

Beautiful job! I especially love the plaque, but tell me, are the pearls real or gumpaste? They look real to me!! :)

It IS lovely! And as for what any one else, I would refer back to "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all!" I am a huge fan of your work, keep on cakin' on!!!

Beautiful cake, some people always got something to say, you work hard to make beautiful cakes, nothing wrong with admiring your own work, even if you were the one that designed it, love it!
