    I think i understand a little but its not something i've been brave enough to try. Is it royal icing outlines?

    I took a photo of a blue morpho butterfly off google, taped it to a piece of cardboard, and placed waxed paper over it. The outline is with colorflow dyed black. It is mixed to a consistency of toothpaste for the outline. The remaining colors are thinned-out colorflow. Then allowed to dry (that took several days). I have never tried the "colorflow" technique with royal icing, but I bet it would work.

    Thanks afrussopa, just googled color flow and it seems to be a wilton product not sure if i can buy it in the UK. i think i'll try it with thinned royal icing. Thanks again its stunning x
