Cake Club! Looks great! Fine-tuning details for next time... try and keep your corners a little better, looks like they rounded out on you. Use a ruler to emboss your sticking details, it looks like you went a little wonky in a few spots. Your handle is a little chunky, next time try to print a template on your computer to get your proportions right. A fondant-covered cake board would have elevated the overall look of this cake. Great job!
Cake Club! I agree with FromScratch. A little rounded corners, and the handle is a little bulky. I kind of appreciate the imperfect stitching. I looks realistic enough, if you really look closely at stitched leather. Good job.
Cake club comment: Since I've yet to make a suitcase, I'm just going to say I love it :) and especially give you a shout out for the nice buckles on the straps!
Cake Club: Definitely square up the edges, especially when it's a cake imitating a real object. GREAT job though! Just a few things to go slower on next time I would think. The handles, the labels...nothing a little more time won't help.
I agree the cornres are very rounded, and it looks like it was over-stuffed, which is cute, but the bottom doesn't have that same sloping, so it is a bit off. Handle a bit chunky...I like a thicker board, even if it isn't fondant, it looks nicer as a drum.
I've yet to make a suitcase so take my comments with a grain of salt. First impression is that the suitcase was cut in half and should be an inch or two taller. The rounded look doesn't bother me at all. Maybe print out the tickets on edible paper.
Cake Clubber: I agree with the previous commenters. I would really use a fondant covered board the next time. Your cake deserves to be displayed well! You did a great job with the trim, the buckles and handle. If you make one again, be sure to even out the top and corners so the whole cake is level. If you start with a level cake, everything else is just, well... icing on the top ;) Great job!
