Very cute cake!!! How did you make the cc?

It was carved out of 6" rounds and one 4" round. I used two thicker ones for the cupcake part and put a 6" cardboard round (CBR) on the bottom and a 4" CBR on the top. I used those as a guide to cut my angle for the cup part. For the icing part, I put one 6" round of cake on a 6" CBR and just lightly trimmed off the top edge to round it off. I used an approximately 5" round cutter to cut the next tier out of another 6" round cake. Then did the 4" round, just trimming the top edge, No need to use a cutter here..it's already the perfect size. Take some of the scraps from your 2nd cake, the one that you cut with the 5" round cutter, and carve or just smash together the 4th layer which is the pointy top. I filled each layer as I went up and then iced over all of it, removing most of it and just using a finger to along the indentation where the layers meet. Cover with fondant. Use powdered colors to lightly dust in the cracks to give it more personality. Oh, to cut the fondant out for the cupcake "wrapper," I just measured the diameter of the base of the cupcake and used a similar sized round cutter to cut out a circle in the center of a piece of rolled out fondant. Then measure the height of your cupcake, gently mark this height at intervals on your fondant by putting your ruler at the edge of that circle you cut out. Go all around, moving your ruler of course, along with you. Measure the diameter from one mark to the other mark, being sure to go through the center of the circle you've cut out. Find a cardboard round that approximate size ( a little bigger would be OK, but don't go smaller.) I think mine used a about a 12". Cut around your cardboard round. Now you should have a giant flat fondant donut. Cut a line from the center of the donut to the outside edge. You can measure around the top edge of your cupcake with a piece of string or something, but I just cut a section out. That way you won't have a lot of additional fondant getting in your way when applying it to the cake (which should be iced before you begin this whole process!). Then make your indents all around and stack your two separate cupcake parts together. I did put a round of fondant on top of the cupcake (cake part) before putting on the "wrapper". It was the same color as the icing, then the wrapper was a contrasting color. I hope this makes sense...should have emailed you!! Good luck...it was a VERY fun cake to do!

Beautiful cake! What did you use to make it shiny?
