Basketball Cake

This is the second cake of this style I've done. The style is based on one by Salt Cake City. I realized after I already had the ball part on the cake that I forgot to put the pattern in the fondant. I tried doing it after the fact, but you can't see it. If I am asked to do another one I may add an additional layer to the net part of the cake and taper it down like a real net. I will also (as suggested by my husband) make the top part of the net longer than the bottom part. Either way, the young man loved it, so I am happy.
