My First Fondant Roses!

My First Fondant Roses! on Cake Central

This is my first attempt at making fondant roses. They were made to put on my Wilton course 3 final cake. I would love any pointers and critiques on how to make them better!

First attempt -WOW. They look really great. As Phoov mentioned, dust adds really a lot to flowers. Keep up the good work

They look great!!! I just learned how to make them Tuesday night myself. I've got lots of practicing to do.

I think you've done a wonderful job. From my experience, I've learned that the thinner you can roll your gumpaste, the more realistic-looking the petals are. Wilton's method is a great starting place, but there are some true artists out there that have taken flower-making to another level. I've begun using one cutter for all the "rows" of petals on my roses, and it sure saves time. The size of the petal is then determined byhow you roll it after cutting. Applying dusts adds another dimension too!
