Both layers are smoothed buttercream (using the viva method) and all characters and "Drew" sign were hand cut fondant (except his name which was cut using cutters). This was my first experience with fondant and I was pretty pleased. I bake cakes/cupcakes often but haven't ever done a cake this,in-depth, so to speak.
