I saw the idea for the piped area in the American Cake Decorating Magazine April/May 2009 edition. I used a different method from that but the idea of drying the pieces before and putting them together is generally the same

Inspirational! Really lovely idea! I keep staring at it to try and work out how the 2nd tier piping doesn’t fall through the top of the 1st tier!

Well the are piped and dried separately and i used royal icing to put it together plus the cake on the other side gives it support

Vkakes11 it was piped and dried on a dummy cake with royal icing, then the dummy was removed and i put it together with the fondant covered cake half.
Alexandra1972 i used led lights. Little submersible ones.
