The Castle was requested by the little girl's mother. The little girl is fascinated by the Backyardigans. Uniqua is a FBCT on both cakes. I only wish I had a picture of how the cake arrived...this is how it looked when it left my house. Upon arrival, one of the turrets had torn off! I HATE doing castle cakes. This could quite possibly be the last one I ever take an order for. They are simply to unstable for me to deal with anymore.

Thanks, it's all done in buttercream, the bricks are done from the basketweave tip (flat side). Perhaps if it HAD been covered in fondant it wouldn't have torn apart.

It's very nice. Great colors. Your writing is so pretty. And the transfer is perfect.

That was clever to use the basketweave to look like the bricks! I'll have to remember that. :)

What size cake pan did you use for the castle and turrets?
gmcakes 3/27/06 at 8:47am
This was a 10" square cake...I think that was the problem! I was afraid of the turrets falling, so I cut them into the cake instead of attaching them seperately. I think that is what led to their downfall!
