In album: chocolate
Cake I made for my husband to take to work, Devil's food cake with chocolate frosting. The roses on top are light and dark chocolate (the Wilton book does it in pink). I also used a serrated scraper for the sides and piped dots for the border on the bottom.

Your icing looks great! Is that Chocolate Buttercream? Roses are beautiful!

Yes, I used cocoa powder added to the regular buttercream icing (1/2 butter and 1/2 butter crisco). I melted semi-sweet chocolate for the darker roses. Thanks for looking!

Mmmmm chocolate! Very pretty cake!

Doug, I found that you need to apply a very thick coat of icing on the sides to get that kind of indentation. Lots of trial and error and thank you for your kind words.
