Captain Benson's promotion cake!

One of my favorite cakes ever! I live in Canada, and our national animal is the beaver, which is why the clip that holds the name plate to the helmet is a beaver not an eagle. The cake itself was sculpted freehand, fondant covered and then the name plate was gumpaste for firmness. The beaver is modeling chocolate and fondant, covered in luster dust to give the antique brass look. It was an honor to make this special cake.
