Thanks for all the nice comments on the cake... I wanted to add that the cake was so large, the bride didn't need all of the servings so the bottom 4 cakes in each corner are stryrofoam dummies .. oh and btw, this was my very first wedding cake... talk about freaking out! I was almost a total basket case with this one :)

The bottom 4 round tiers are 12"... the square stacked on top of the 4 round layers is a 14" square ... then on top of the 14" square is another 12" round... on top of the 12" round, is a 8" square... on top of the catherdal steeple is a 6" square ... this cake was huge!! lol

No wonder you commented it was huge. After your last comment i had to go over the cake again. I would rather make mine 10''(the 4 bottom),10'',8'' 6'' 4''. Even at this ,still too big. How did you illuminate the cake?

The bride had a small light that we were able to very carefully run up the backside of the cake. I told the couple there would be way more cake than they needed; however, there were did not want me to cut the serving amount down. Thanks!
