    First of all you need to make sure your frosting is the proper consistency, you may need to thin it a bit. DON"T put too much frosting in the bag. You want to be up close and personal with the tip. Touch the tip and anchor the frosting, pull the tip away from the cake, straight back (towards yourself), not down. Squeezing the whole time, let the frosting "fall" to the desired spot, then re-attach it to the cake in the desired spot. Try that and see if it helps you. Good luck.
