I have been asked several times for instructions on this cake and I don't really have any so I am going to try to sum it up as best I can here. I really just added every detail as I went and didn't really plan it out to well in advance. I just made a sheet cake and covered in buttercream frosting. Then I made the MMF and colored some of it with green gel and covered the entire cake with that as a base. Then I colored some of the MMF brown and measured and cut the wood sides of the table.
Instructions cont... Then I colored MMF black and cut the side and corner pockets with a large circle cutter. I used a small circle cutter and white MMF for the details on the sides of the table. I used white MMF and shaped it around the balls for the rack. I hand rolled each ball by rolling out white MMF, cutting with a round cutter and shaping them into balls, then cutting a very thin small rectangle for the stripes and wraping it around the ball. I used a small white circle cutter to cut out the number..
...I used an edible food writer to number the balls and write on the cake. I used MMF to shape the pool cue.Lastly I used choc. buttercream frosting to pipe the borders. For sticking the MMF together I used a small paint brush and water and just brushed on a small amount of water. Anything more specific you will have to PM me and ask specifically. It was really pretty easy and anyone could do it. Thanks for all the wonderful comments from everyone!
Wow now that is way too cool!!! I don't wanna cut it!!!!
nice job!!!
You did a great job! I may have to borrow this one for my husband's birthday cake this year!!
Very creative, and a great cake!
This is great! I have baked cakes for years, but very new to decorating....how did you do this?? I love it!
gunnersgirl5578 - everything is made from MMF. I hand rolled the balls and just put it together as I went. PM me if you want more specifics.
can I please find out how you did this too. And this may sound silly but what does MMF mean
Would you please please please send me the instructions for making the balls. [email protected]
