Spring Garden

Spring Garden on Cake Central

For my MIL's birthday tomorrow. My first time making SMBC and I was really nervous about it! I was going for the contrasting colors of the orange and blues. The butterflies are chocolate. There is a bit of a reflection on the chocolate wings. Oh well! Thanks to everyone who helped me to figure them out! I had inspriation from Frostings with Flair, WBH and Fairytale, but I think I made it my own too.

AWESOME !! I am in awe. I absolutely love the colors and butterflies. How did you get the curve in them??Has to go in my favs.

I made the wings separately then piped a line of chocolate in a med flower former (for the body) and pressed the wings into the body and let them dry so the wings would stand up.

on

It's a beauty! I love every aspect of it! The color of the flowers is really enhanced against the SMBC. What a gorgeous cake!

I am a huge Marjolein Bastin fan (Nature's Sketchbook) and this cake looks like it could be one of her sketches in 3D! Beautiful work.
