Flip Flop Cake
Made this for my daughter's 7th birthday, which was a pool party. Each flip flop was cut from a 9x13" cake - one white one chocolate. I made a template of a flip flop and cut the cakes using the template. I used "fruit by the foot" for the thong and graham cracker crumbs for the sand. Also used some silk flowers I had from a Hawaiian lei. The girls loved it!
I bet they did! you did an awsome job. LOVE the colors.
You're the best mom and your daughter will remember this forever! Great job!!!!!
excellent idea!
Wow, this is a great flip flop cake, very cool, lovely job!
Great idea using the fruit by the foot. I was planning to make Flip Flops with whipped cream topping but wasn't comf. with using fondant as the straps. The fruit or bubble tape should hold up though without getting soft. Thanks ever so much. Your cake is beautiful
Yes, I bet either would hold up fine! Good luck with your cake! Post your pictures when you're finished!
Lucky daughter! The fruit by the foot was an inspired idea! Good job!
adorable cake!! I was wondering about how many this fed?
I cut each flip flop out of a 9x13" cake. I can't remember exactly how many kids were at the party, but I'd guess that the two cakes together would serve at least 24. If you needed to get more servings you could start with a larger sheet cake. Thanks for the nice feedback!
I love your flip flops I am going to make a cake for my neice thanks for a great idea!!!
Those are so cute! Great idea using the fruit b.t. f. for the straps! Very creative!
