Bouquet Cake

Bouquet Cake on Cake Central

The idea came from the The Whimsical Bakehouse book. This cake ended up being a disaster! I transported it to my inlaws ( 65 mins away) and all the sides gave way leaving only the top frosting. I used the house buttercream recipe out of the same book and it did not hold up to heat and transportation.

This is absolutely beautiful!! So sorry to hear about the disaster though. How did you make your flowers? Are the gumpaste or buttercream? I just love that full look and it looks like you did leaves all around the base. Is the green arond the top all leaves? You did a beautiful job!!

Aren't we all glad we learned to take pictures as soon as a cake is finished? Sounds like gravity did you in, but the cake is really beautiful!

Thanks Everyone:) CarolAnne: All the Roses are buttercream and I put them in the freezer so I could attach them to the cake easily. The daisies, pansies and violets are made from royal Icing.:)

You did a wonderful job! I absolutely love the colors! I also love the fact that there is a smooth blank center on the cake. It's so very nice. Sorry it didn't make the trip well.
