Herk's Happy 65Th (First Paid Cake Ever!)
OMG, this was such a pain!! LOL I had trouble with my black borders. My tip kept clogging with Wilton's chocolate icing. Also, one of the records broke (Happy Birthday record). I quickly camouflaged it with a tiny record. Whew, thank God for quick thinking! Yellow Sour Cream Almond Cake with white cookies and cream filling and buttercream icing. All icing in black is chocolate. Letters and notes are made from home made stencil. Records and pearls are fondant. I'm so glad this is over! LOL
good job..
Great idea! Well done. Even down to the covered board with music paper.
Looks like even though you thought it was a pain it turned out to be great! You would never know you had problems!
I love it! It turned out great! What did you use to cut out the records.
Thanks all. For the smaller records, I used Wilton's round cookie cutter. For the bigger records, I used a 6-inch cake board and very sharp X-acto knife.
I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MCook, yes I did. I used Wilton's chocolate decorator icing. HTH.
Great design. Did you just add black color to chocolate icing?
This looks awesome! Great job on your first cake. You're a natural!
Great job!!! I love the records!
I love this cake!!! It just says "fun" to me. You did a fantastic job!!!
