How much would you charge for a cake like that? Just curious, I would love to start doing that! Also, GREAT LOOKING CAKE!!1

Thank you so much - I am having lots of trouble setting my prices.... they were supposed to pay $50 but gave me an extra $20 when they saw it. I would appreciate any ideas or opinions on pricing as I am sooooo lost and many people have asked 'how much do you charge'? ;) I used the pattern-transfer technique for Dora and free-handed the butterfly.

I used an oversized basketweave tip with the smooth side out to create the stripes - I would tilt my turntable next time so they "stick" better... and I used cream cheese icing so it wasn't as stiff but I just love glossy icing rather then the stuff you can see the grain in (a.k.a. Wilton) but the stiff stuff looks better.... dilemma.

I usually charge $50 for a 10" character cake($2.00 per serv.) You can figure a price per serving. Wilton says 63 servings for a 14" round cake. At 1.50 per.serv. that would be $95.30 It depends on how much work is put into the design and your location. I live in NYC. I don't think I would charge less than $100. You have to value your work and others will too.
