This is the two-step buttercream someone brought over from the Wilton site. Lovely to work with and not very sweet. The design was transferred over via a buttercream outline, just like a piping gel transfer, but I was running out of gel and wasn't sure I had enough to spare. The buttercream outlines worked fairly well. I got some skips in the design, but was able to fill them in. "Glass" is piping gel, of course. Next time I think I'll do an edible image, brushed with piping gel instead.

Gorgeous. Can you share the "two-step buttercream"?
Crimsicle 3/8/06 at 4:53am
Sure. It's in the recipe section. It's called Whipped Cream Buttercream. The name is deceptive, because there's no whipped cream in it. It reminds me of IMBC, but it's more stable and easier to make. I had no meringue powder, so I used powdered egg white and about 1/4 teaspoon gumtex. I used the extra TBS meringue powder to get it to crust, but it didn't crust until overnight. Nice frosting.

Very pretty cake. I love the piping gel idea. It really looks like stained glass. Broders are looking good!!!
