Flower Pot

Flower Pot on Cake Central

This was all iced in buttercream. The flowers are molded from white choc. It filled with passion fruit cream. This was done for a local flower shop. (too much pressure to make the flowers look more real!) I also painted the pot with a mixture of brown gel coloring and bronze luster dust.

Great job! amazing i cant believe its all bc. Where can i find a recipe for the passion fruit filling?

The passion fruit filling is very simple. I just whip about three cups (sometimes a little more) of whipping cream and add about a cup of passion fruit perserves. You can find them at most of your local markets.

how did you do the pot again. I would like to try for mothers day! did you bake the cake in the flower pot. Or did you shape it yourself?

I did 12,10,8,6 I used a sturdy pound mixture because it was going to be top heavy. I froze the cakes and then stacked them from largest to smallest. Then I carved downward to make sure there were no edges. You don't want the cakes to be the same size but you want a nice smooth slant. Then I separated them and let them thaw. Once thawed, I filled each layer with pf and stacked them. I iced the entire cake and then flipped it over.
