Thank you coolmom, it's royal icing piped onto a small wooden skewer, I made three, one broke in transport, it's placed in the center side of the cake.

This is so cool! Are the ears flat on the cake board, or sticking out from the head, mid-way? Just trying to figure out how they would attach, if not sitting on the board?

The ears are made of fondant and have two toothpicks in each, they are stuck into the side of the head, not resting on the cake board. The hair curl is royal icing piped unto a skewer and stuck into the certer on the head. The non-edibles are the bracelet, rocking horses,(plastic) and the toothpicks and one skewer.
