Baby Shower Cake on Cake Central

Babushower cake for our cousin and his wife babyshower. White cake with orange buttercream covered with yellow tinted buttercream and fondant cutouts.

Thank you Darra! The design is inspired by a picture of the cake from the Wilton's Yearbook, and I also used their recipe for regular buttercream. I didn't have cutters, I literaly cutted the shapes out. I used a paper template and some cookie cutters.

How do you make the buttons? I just love them, and have seen them on so many cakes... but just can't quite get them right! I love the colors. Awesome design!!!

Thank you! For the button make a little ball out of fondant and press it in the middle with the dovel rod. Then press tip 2 for the holes.

Very pretty! How did you get the textured look on the cake? I love your colors and the buttons and clothes are adorable!!

Thank you so much for the comments! You know how they say to use Viva paper towels, because they don't have any pattern on them to smooth out the buttercream? I didn't have any, so Quilted Bounty it was. I gues you can get interesting look with it and probably get more different quilted patterns I just saw one with little flowers on them, I thought those would be cute too.
