Basketweave Cake With Chocolate Lid
This is a 2 layer 9" cake with a basket weave and an open lid made of solid chocolate. The flowers are all made with royal icing and I haven't had much experience with making them. I have also decided not to use chocolate for the lid unless it is requested. They break easily and make the cake cost more and I found that once you take the lid off no one really eats it.
Fantastic work. What will you make the lid out of, instead of chocolate.
nice cake, beautiful flowers, I would think you could use foam board covered with icing for the lid.
