I had a bride who wanted to match a Ben-Israel cake she saw on tv. This is black buttercream with silk flowers. Bottom and top tiers are styrofoam. Note: Take and awl or screwdriver with you (and duct tape) if you need to insert flowers into Styrofoam. I think this cake is simply gorgeous.

It is absolutely beautiful but I must say the first thing that came to mind was all those wedding guests walking around with black tongues! lol

Absolutely breathtaking. How in the world did you get your buttercream to be a true black.

Don't think I didn't have a black tongue for few days too! And let's just say that all that black coloring "comes out" a little weird on the other end!

How I get black buttercream: I use Americolor. It is a dark gray when fresh and dries dark black. I used about 3 T. for 2 batches of WIlton white icing

This cake is absolutely gorgeous! But I was told by my decorating instructor that black Icing in abundance is kind of a No No because it causes issues when coming out the other end. Did anyone (Guests etc. ) have this problem? The cake really is Stunning!! 8)
