Grooms cake accompanying the Pinecone Wedding cake today; tree and birds are sugar, top half of the egg is cake, all covered in fondant. Nest around is fondant with taped pieces sticking out around for a more "nesty" look!

this is so artful and beautiful!! I absolutely love wedding cakes that have to do with birds: this stands above any I've ever seen!!

Thank you all for the compliments! MelC- The tree was made of wires and gumpaste, gotta love gumpaste! Lots of small sections at a time, and then long drying times to make sure it didnt crack and break on transport...which was on my lap!

HA! Thanks! You know we talked about it afterwards and thought that maybe we should have put a different expression on the birds faces because of the size of the egg! OUCH!
