Pink Rose Plaque on Cake Central

Pink Gumpaste Roses on gumpaste plaque. Lovely glue blob really didn't show when viewing the cake!

chaptips....my gumpaste teacher taught us that you can hardly get them too thin,,,just to keep rolling. It seems to work. The gumpaste sure has to be nice and pliable. There's a new kind I'm going to try that actually looks translucent when you are finished.

I don't even know enough about it to tell you! My wilton instructor took a class from a gal named Beth Parve (I think that's her name), and she manufactures and sells her own gumpaste. My friend felt like it was a very superior product and is going to stock it in her decorating store. Her finished flowers from the class had this translucent appearance. They were just a cut above what we're producing with Wilton's gumpaste mix.

these ar beautiful cakes i am the one you told to give up buttercream roses if i can make roses i/3 as good as you are the gumpaste roses i will be one happy persom thanks middysmom

Oh you can! And these are some of my better ones. Even the first ones were fine. If I were you though...I'd check out the ribbon roses first. They're great to make when you're in a hurry~ and I seem to be in a hurry alot! LOL The gumpaste ones will take some studying. Wilton has a kit/course that you could buy and work thru on your own at home if you're inclined. The instructions are pretty good~
