This is the right photo, I hope. I made this cake a few years ago when the basket weave cake was really popular. This cake was four tiers and each tier was a different flavor. I arranged the fresh flower topper also.

Your cakes look good, but the flowers are obscuring too much of them. :(

I agree with AngelWendy

Nice basketweave, but I have to agree with AngelWendy; there are too much flower/greenery that it takes away from your work on your cake (which is obviously pretty and good work from what I see!!)

Great job!

I liked this, I think for beginners like me (you certainly don't look like a beginner), basket weave is the easiest - safest way to go. And too many flowers do take away from the cake, but it still looked good!!

great job on the basket weave but too many flowers
the-cake-man 2/22/06 at 11:09am
Thank you all for your compliments and I agree with you all, there are too many flowers. The couple I designed the cake for, selected the cake from a magazine layout, and they wanted there cake just as it appeared in the magazine, with tons of flowers and greenery. It looked nice at the reception as it was held outdoors. I have made several variations of this cake, but none have as many flowers as this one.
