Passion Flower

Passion Flower on Cake Central

Here's the passion flower I made this weekend in class. It took roughly 5 hours to put all of the pieces together. Everything is gumpaste! The flower's story is that it's a representation of the Crucifixion of Christ. The red styles represent the 3 nails, the round white ovary - the hammer, the 5 stamen - the 5 wounds, the spiked corolla - the crown of thorns, and the tens sepals (petals) - the 10 loyal apostles. It was a fanstastic experience.

Wowzers. Who did you learn your gumpaste skills from????? If somebody asked if they "could eat" this flower, I'd backhand them.

Wow...this is gorgeous...So much work though for one flower! I'm sure it was all worth the while once it all came together. Perfect!!

This is my absolute favorite flower of all time. I first saw one when I was 12, and it has stayed with me. Do you have any hints on how to make one of these?
