Sam's 10Th Birthday Cake

Sam's 10Th Birthday Cake on Cake Central

Inspired by a fabulous cake on this site, I set out to make yet another 3D cake for my family. Even though I've been a pastry chef for 14 years, I've not done many 3D cakes, even though I've done countless wedding and birthday cakes. What fun!! Any other cake is now boring to me! Thanks to all the creative people on this site for the inspiration!

By the way, everything but the cheese is buttercream. The cheese is MMF (another amazing thing I'd never come across before seeing this site).

I can't take credit for the fries. Check out bonniebakes hamburger cake for the inspiration!

Great job! How did you raise the top cake???? I haven't tried this yet, and have looked at a couple of options.

It's two 10-inch cakes, one thicker and split in two (the buns) and one thin (the burger). I iced the bottom, iced the "burger" with ganache and let it harden. Then I plunked the burger on top of the the bun, topped it with the "cheese" slice and some red buttercream. Finally, I iced the top bun with buttercream and plunked it on top of the burger. Hope this helps!
