Petit Fours

Petit Fours on Cake Central

I baked cupcakes and they didn't rise so I took them out of their papers and flipped them over and made petit fours.

It really wasn't hard to do - I used a whipped cream frosting to "fill" each cupcake and then used candy melts and whipped cream to coat them.

The recipe is one package of candy melts (14 oz.) and 1/2 cup of whipping cream. Heat the whipping cream to a boil and mix in candy melts. Stir until mixture is pourable. Pour over cakes. Remove from heat as soon as the whipping cream reaches boiling.

Jeez, that recipe for the covering sounds so much better than what I did last night. I had a really hard time with the chocolate pourable fondant. It kept getting grainy. I'll try your recipe next time!
