OMG! He looks so realistic, UNBELIEVEABLE!!!! I just love him, mine can't compare, it's just the best Elmo I've ever seen! Great work. Think I'll do your Elmo next time someone wants one. - If you don't mind me copying that is.

extra cake mix for cupcakes...used caps of cupcakes for the base of feet and hands, be sure to use four dowels under the elmo and a cardboard base, also use two or three dowels going through the body and head for added support, I used toothpicks to hold the arms and legs in place due to time constrants. I did not use a lot of cake for the hands and feet.use icing to form their shapes, the thumbs are all icing. Have fun with the grass tip.OMG I almost forgot:crumb coat everything!!

I have never seen so many comments for one cake!!! Awesome job. Just got an order for an elmo cake...not sure if I dare attempt something like this. Kudos to you!

this Elmo cake is awesome!!!! I would like to try & make it for my daughter's 2nd birthday. I am curious about the fur. I see that you noted a grass tip. Is the fur made of icing or is that fondant as well? Any other instructions you can provide me with would be wonderful! thanks! I can only hope that I can do as well!!

This is the best elmo cake I have ever seen! I had to add a little comment!!!Thanks for posting the directions too- my daughter will be 2 in 2 weeks and loves Elmo!

I made elmo using your cake for inspiration and a model. Wow it was hard ~ I was not able to get the red as red as yours and the mouth closed on the drive. But it was so much fun to make and I am pretty proud of what I accomplished. Thank you for setting such a high standard for me!
