This is one of the teapot cakes I have made for a bridal shower. They wanted it in shades of lavendar, I used buttercream icing and gum paste for the handle and spout. Buttercream rose for the topper.
Thank you everyone. Yes, it is the 3-D ball pan. I cut some off of the bottom, (to make a flat surface for it to set on) and that is what I used to make the "lid"
My neighbor collects teapots and I would love to make this for her...what are the handle and spout made out of? Did you have a pattern to follow, or freehand the forming? This is a beautiful cake!
The handle and spout are out of gum paste - they are done freeehand, I make them the day before I make the cake. I never can get the "curve" of the teapot on the spout, thus the icing trim and drop flowers in that area, it helps hide it.Thank you for all the nice comments. I am relatively new to this, taking the classes has been so much fun!

This is awesome!!! How did you keep the handle & spout from drooping or falling off? I's LOVE to make one myself
I use toothpicks! Just stick a couple of them in each piece - then it stays put on the cake.
