Silver Scroll

White caramel cake with coconut filling.I painted the whole cake with royal icing then dusted it with alot of silver and antique silver enhanced the scrolls.I wrapped it with a scarf of white fondant and used two pearl gumpaste hearts for the topper. Lots of fresh flowers made for an elegant fall/winter wedding cake. It was fun to make, kind of like sculpting with plaster.

Wow that is impressive! Did you use BC uner the Royal icing? What happen when you cut into royal icing cake, does the icing stay put? I would rather eat the royual icing on a cake that the crisco.

Thanks for comments! To answer stylishbite-I used BC under royal icing and a very thin layer of rolled fondant to create a canvas. A warmed sharp knife cuts through the icing no problem!
