I always have a hard time with Illini them, they are sooo plain. This is buttercream. fondant basketballs and lettering, icing image plaques for the I and image.

what, you don't like do that awful (IMHO) pumpkin orange & blue?!?!? (grew up just 30 miles from the U of I) and is that an edible image of the flying saucer (as it is called locally) aka the assembly hall??? excellent job (especially the plaque on top) of overcoming limited possibilities
