A friend that loves gothic and skeletons asked for me to make her shower cake. Loving skeletons too, I made a red velvet cake with white fondant and black icing lacing. The craddle and baby skeletons in blue blankets I made from polymer clay so that she could keep them.
Very freaky
You did a really good job on this! Reminds me of the Nightmare Before Christmas.
Your cake is just awesome! Perfect representation! I am sure they loved it...And I'm sure you'll get all their goth friends to order from you soon.
Thanks all, I just love skeletons! Our room is blood red with sjeletons all over and we live in an old mortuary too. So making this cake was fun. Thanks again.
too freaky
well, looks like Godiva was right...I got another order for a skeleton cake, this will have body parts coming out of the cake. So much fun. Thank you all
Cake is perfect for occasion...HOWEVER...be careful - polymer clay is toxic and should never touch food or food utensils. Now that's scary!
My "sculpey" polymer clay says it's non toxic although I wouldn't eat it.
I can't believe how incredibly perfect this cake would be for my friend's shower. She is a Nightmare Before Christmas fanatic. I wish I could do the skeletons. I would love to do it for her.
Thank you all. A solution to the clay is to spray the pieces with clear polyurathane and let dry, then set on the cake. I always tell whomever NOT to eat the clay.
this cake is awesome, my husband and I loved it.. Great job!
That is cute in a scary way..
i love this cake. i wish i would thought of that for my shower.
I did the cake and the skeletons and it came out perfect. My friend was blown away. Thanks for the idea!!
I like. A very unique shower cake.
