This was for a friend's father in law. I was asked two days ahead of time and hesitated, then agreed. Then she said that there were diet restrictions and that I would have to use the recipes she gave me! This icing was IMPOSSIBLE to work with. I almost cried over this cake.. She gave the recipe less than 24hrs before she wanted it and neglected to tell me that he was allergic to FD COLORING! Thankfully, the recipe for the icing was made with brown sugar, so the sand bunker is free of color. 1st paid cake!
I think it looks great! I recently did a diabetic cake for the first time & know what you mean about icing that's tough to work with! I think yours turned out great! Is that a real golf ball or did you make if from fondant? It looks so real!
oh...thanks!!! It's made out of fondant (the ball and the flag). No, he's not supposed to have that either!!!.Thanks for saying it looks good, my husband said it was a bit off!!!

This cake is wonderful. I've never done a diabetic cake, and thre pressure of a last minute order and baking instructions--I don't know if I would have been up to the challenge. The golf ball also is very realistic. ;-D ;-D
