Dark Romance Alexander McQueen Inspired wedding cake.....
I was really proud of how this cake turned out for a shoot that was featured today on a wedding blog. I worked with Emerson EventsandDesign out of Oklahoma City who styled the shoot and also did the stunning florals and other pieces for it. She is a genius, and she asked me to create something with black and gold in mind. I drew inspiration from a pair of studded shoes that were black with gold studs, and an gorgeous Alexander McQueen Black and Gold Corset . With the idea of dark romance in mind, I created an 8 inch tall bottom tier. Then I stenciled the gold pattern onto the cake with a standard stencil I picked up from Hobby Lobby. I then placed black drapes along the bottom tier. The top tier I covered with gold covered chocolate buttons. Then finished it off with the Fleur de lis. I also created matching cupcakes. The shoot was done outdoors, so I will add those photos when I get them downloaded, so you can see everything in both settings. My husband Kevin Paul Photography shot the indoor pics, and Amanda Watson Photography did the on site shots that I will be adding.
