This was the inside of my recent baby gender reveal cake. I have seen tutorials but they don't tell you to make sure your insides are tight together. My husband thought up this idea.
Omg I love it, iv always been intrigued by surprise cakes and thought it was way out my league, I think I could manage this! Really going to try this one, do you use anything inbetween each slice of pink heart or just pack tightly?
Also is that a chocolate brown mixture? And how to you stop the hearts sinking when packing them in? Is the brown mixture anything special to aid the cooking or placement? Sorry for all questions, I'm all excited now :)
Hi Louiselovesbaking! Thanks. I just used a plain chocolate cake batter, nothing special about it. The pieces just sort of sit there. And yes, the pieces need to be tightly together, that is why I have cut them at the angle so that they fit snug!! I will try to post this in tutorials too so that I can say more about it.
LOVE IT!!! My son is getting married this saturday and Im making his wedding cake...PLEASE HOLD MY HAND THROUGH THIS!...what do you mean the hearts are at angle...do you have better pics??? or a video...sorry Im a must see person. THANKS!
I tried to do a tutorial for this site but it is still under review I guess... posted it yesterday but they have not posted it yet.
I did post a tutorial on cakesdecor.com though and it is up and running.
Just pics though, no video.. sorry
