Love these jars... are they just cake or is there ice cream in them to?

No ice cream, although that is a great idea, it is cake, icing and sprinkles!

Did you layer it like a trifle, or did you bake the cake layer at the bottom, then add frosting and sprinkles once it cooled? Love the look!

Actually, that was a silly question since I looked at them again and saw frosting between layers of cake, so baking in the jar wouldn't make sense. Sorry for the mistake!

The jars hold the equivalent of 2 cupcakes. I have seen them where you layer the cupcakes, icing and sprinkles in the jar but with the cupcakes there is a space between the side of the jar and the cake. I like to use cake scraps and cut the circle with a 2? circle cutter. That way the cake comes right up to the sides of the jar. There is 2 layers of cake and 2 layers of icing. The last layer of icing comes up to the lid. They freeze really well and can be sold later or used as great gifts. Thanks ...
