Cake For Friend
i threw this together quick after my wilton III class- i just had to try fondant. bow turned out pretty good for a first time, and i've learned to wait until bc has fully crusted before trying to paint it- the red on the roses kind of got wet and didn't look quite how i wanted. coconut cake with pineapple
Great bow !!! Haven't braved fondant yet myself .
How did you make the roses with the pink on em? They sure are kewl!
i painted petal dust onto the bc roses- i wish i had waited til they stiffened up a little more- it got a little clumpy-live and learn
This turned out very good. I like it.
Beautiful!
This looks great. How tall was the cake?
it was a 2 layer 6inch cake plus an extra 1/2 layer and each layer was torted and filled, so at least 5 inches. i was experimenting with heights, and flavors
Beautiful :)
wow! It looks great!!! Did you enjoy the classes? What'd ya think of'em?
awesome cake! I especially like your presentation with the tulle and hearts, it really shows off your beautiful cake!
Very pretty cake. I love the way you made your roses, they look real.
Pretty~
Beautiful cake. I love the way your roses turned out. And the tulle and hearts just add to the beauty of your cake.
the roses are beautiful! As is the cake!!
Lovely cake and lovely presentation too, looks picture perfect!
That is so pretty...love the roses & height of the cake.
wendoger- i'm in the middle of course III, so far i really enjoy them, i hadn't ever really done royal icing flowers, or fondant, so it's really helpful to have a person to show you how to do something, versus just reading it out of a book. we changed the order of our classes, so next week we're covering the cake with fondant, so we'll see how i do- i think i'll just make a batch of mmf, vs buying wiltons veery expensive stuff
Beautiful!
